Dear Friends and Family,
This year I am celebrating a major milestone: 10 years of being a cancer survivor! To mark this amazing anniversary, I have challenged myself to raise $10,000 this year to support lifesaving cancer research. I am calling this my “10-10-10 Challenge” – 10 years, 10 races, $10,000!
In addition to running 5 community races, I will run 5 half marathons, on my way to completing half marathons in all 50 states. My half marathons this year include races in New Orleans, LA; Louisville, KY; Providence, RI; Denver, CO; and Memphis, TN.
Many of you have donated to my fundraising efforts in the past, and I hope I can count on you again this year to make a donation. So far, with generous donor support, I have been able to raise over $35,000 for cancer research and patient aid! What a huge difference we have made!
All of us know someone who has battled cancer. I have lost a friends to this horrible disease, and I know the dollars we donate will help in finding a cure and helping more people live long, healthy and cancer-free lives.
The dollars raised in this fundraising campaign will benefit The Gateway for Cancer Research, a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. I recently joined the Gateway Board, and I believe in their mission: to fund cutting-edge clinical trials in cancer therapies that can extend or improve patients’ lives, or find a cure to cancer today.
The Gateway is unique among cancer charities because 99 cents of every dollar received goes directly to cancer research, so you can feel good that your donation will make a difference!
